We Are Forging Futures harnesses the exciting world of swordplay as part of a
distinctive learning journey to help more young people engage in lifelong
learning – unlocking untapped potential, renewing self-belief and opening
up a world of possibilities.
INSPIRING PROGRAMMES
One of our first pioneering programmes is for 4-14 year olds. Ofsted-aligned and focused on resilience & self-efficacy, its 36 lesson plans span six development stages and link to British Fencing’s Achievement Awards. Backed by hands-on teacher training from the UK’s fencing experts, the material aligns with existing curriculum, so teachers are supported and empowered.
BEYOND PESSPA
By providing positive experiences through purposeful play and introducing personal development themes, We Are Forging Futures stretches and challenges self-perceptions, renews self-belief and instills confidence to access other learning opportunities, in and out of school – inspiring the next generation to get active and build a better understanding of themselves and others.
PROFESSIONAL CPD
As a powerful agent of change, We Are Forging Futures makes a valuable contribution to the personal development of your teachers as well as children. Broadening and enhancing schools’ PESSPA (PE, School Sport and Physical Activity) provision, it can revitalise teaching and learning and open up a whole world of new, exciting possibilities for your people.
The programme was extremely well-taught by a highly-qualified and internationally-recognised instructor. The overwhelming message that I took away from the training was that of inclusivity and that it is a sport which should be – and is – available to all, regardless of upbringing or ability.
I learnt a range of skills and a variety of teaching methods which I have since used to effectively coach children at our school, who have been excited, enthusiastic and inspired.
The programme has fostered many important behaviours in the children: respect, teamwork, honesty, discipline and equality. Children at my school have now experienced a sport which is not so commonly seen within state education or the local area and this is fantastic for their self-confidence and future aspirations.
