Families experience fencing at the Wolves Foundation
Children and families recently had the opportunity to experience the exciting Olympic and Paralympic sport of fencing during a fun and engaging session with the Wolves Foundation, as part of a We Are Forging Futures WOW Experience Day.
The recent We Are Forging Futures WOW Fencing Experience Day introduced participants at the Wolves Foundation to the fundamentals of fencing, helping them build confidence, learn new skills, and try something completely different in a safe and supportive environment.
The session received fantastic feedback from families, with one parent commenting: “My daughter really enjoyed it and said she would like to come back. It was nice how they also got the parents involved.”
Another added: “Thanks for a fun, engaging activity! It was so great to see my son trying a new sport!”
One family shared how their children quickly grew in confidence, praising the instructor’s engaging approach and saying they would “definitely love to attend another session” in the future.
It was fantastic to see so many children and parents getting involved, and we look forward to offering more opportunities for families to discover new sports and stay active together.
The WOW Fencing Experience Day is offered through We Are Forging Futures, British Fencing’s visual identity representing our work in education. The one-day taster session gives organisations the experience of fencing through game-based swordplay activities, delivered by a We Are Forging Futures-endorsed coach.
