For schools, it’s simple, affordable, and easy to implement, with teacher training and CPD, equipment, an achievement scheme, and 36 ready-to-use lesson plans all included.
British Fencing’s We Are Forging Futures programme uses fencing and swordplay to develop confidence, resilience, self-efficacy, focus, and decision-making skills. It also gives pupils a fun, inclusive alternative to traditional sports, helping to engage with those who may not be interested in mainstream sports. Teachers are supported through PE, enrichment, PSHE, extra-curricular clubs, or targeted provision. What’s more, fencing often appeals to SEND pupils, creating positive experiences of participation, progression and achievement.
To help schools manage budget uncertainty, we are offering a new flexible one-year partnership for a limited time. The one-year partnership features will be the same as our usual two-year partnerships, but with greater flexibility to make it easier to introduce within your existing budget. And to make getting started even easier, schools partnering with us in the autumn term will also receive 24 FREE foam swords to help kickstart their fencing activities.
We also offer a WOW Fencing Experience Day, tailored to your school. It can be used for a variety of scenarios, from pupil taster sessions and assemblies, to staff development and team building.
