ABOUT…

CROWN HILLS COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Crown Hills are in the top 12% of schools nationally. They blend a 70-year history of inclusive education with an innovative, forward-looking approach to providing a state education like no other to 1500 students from the inner-city backgrounds.

Crwon Hills entered the British School Team Championships in 2019 and the Girls U15 Sabre team won Bronze for the first time in their school history. They showed that anyone can be competent and feel confident in fencing, then go on to have success.

Watch the testimonial video below to find out more about the Core Coach training. If you’re interested, find out how Crown Hills can train you to deliver fencing yourself. Crown Hills can even hire out the equipment for you and your school, so you can build up slowly and embed fencing into your curriculum.

AN EXAMPLE OF A…

HOLISTIC APPROACH

Around 600 pupils each year are exposed to fencing in curriculum time at Crown Hills Community College. Students can also apply to do fencing as a specialist subject with an experienced fencing coach visiting on Monday morning to support their development.

In the lead-up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Crown Hills and British Fencing worked in partnership on a sticker-piste concept that would allow all 1400+ pupils to have a go. It was launched in 2021 by GBR fencer Yasmin Campbell and since then, the school has gone on to win awards, attributing some of the school’s success to fencing. The BBC has also highlighted the opportunities that Crown Hills are affording young people to view themselves and their ambitions.
