WOW Fencing Day at Richmond Methodist Primary Sparks Interest Beyond the Classroom
Our latest WOW Fencing Experience Day proved another huge success, with children embracing the opportunity to try one of the world’s oldest modern Olympic and Paralympic sports and leaving inspired to continue their fencing journey!
Pupils at Richmond Methodist Primary School got the opportunity to experience a sport that was new to many of them. Despite having to adapt the sessions due to weather and limited indoor space, our coach, Beth, ensured every child enjoyed a fun and rewarding experience.
The school shared their feedback after the event, saying:
“The WOW Day was excellent and the children loved it. The coach (Beth) did a great job given the reduced space and equipment.’’
Perhaps the biggest measure of the day’s success was the enthusiasm it generated beyond the school gates, with staff reporting:
“We have a lot of parents and children wanting to take part and join a fencing club.”
Creating lasting excitement for sport is exactly what our WOW Fencing Experience Days are designed to achieve. By introducing children to fencing in an accessible and engaging way, we’re helping schools inspire new interests, encourage participation, and give pupils experiences they’ll remember long after the day has finished.
