Explore Fencing Course for Teachers

Welcome to Explore Fencing, We Are Forging Futures' CPD course suitable for teachers who are interested in exploring and introducing the fun of fencing to their school!

• Aimed towards 4-14 year olds to complement the wider We Are Forging Futures' offer, but suitable for children of other ages too. The course will explore the 'how' skills of being a coach.
• Explore fencing coaching and the ‘how’ skills of a fencing coach.
• Up to 4 hours of content delivered online and taken at your own pace.
• Access to the Coach area of our Explore Fencing app with fun games that you can share with your pupils. You don’t need any equipment to get started with these games.

Explore Fencing is a fantastic way to open the door to fencing for your school. It is also the first step towards our full community entry-level Core Coach award. Explore Fencing can be taken as a stand-alone experience or as part of the bigger journey towards becoming a full Core Coach.

Explore Fencing gives you:

• A better understanding of the role of a fencing coach and how to explore your own coaching philosophy.
• Understanding of the British Fencing Coaching Framework and how Explore Fencing fits into a bigger picture.
• Certificate of completion (this will also show you have completed 25% of the Online Core Coach Award).
• Preferential rates on foam and plastic equipment.
• Coach Access to the Explore Fencing app with fun games and content.
• Access to the British Fencing Learning Zone for you to take the Explore Fencing course and access any further training from British Fencing.
• Support from British Fencing to help you make the most of the course as you discover fencing and spark imaginations!
